2月8日，協(xié)和浦東三林校區(qū)迎來了超長(zhǎng)寒假后的開學(xué)第一天。今年的開學(xué)主題與往年略有不同。在春意盎然與喜氣洋洋之外，還有嚴(yán)肅謹(jǐn)慎與緊張刺激。

8th February marks the first day of the second semester of SUIS Pudong Sanlin Campus. This year"s opening theme is slightly different from previous years. In addition to the joys of spring, there is tension in the air.

“化學(xué)”、“英語文學(xué)”、“地理”、“中文”、“科學(xué)”、“音樂” ，今天排的不是課程，是滿當(dāng)當(dāng)?shù)目荚嚒Ｐ聦W(xué)期考試周，正式啟動(dòng)。"Chemistry", "English Literature", "Geography", "Chinese", "Science", "Music" - it is not a typical school timetable, but a full day of exams. The new semester examination week officially started.

學(xué)期匆匆，被疫情打亂的學(xué)期更是如此。為了本學(xué)期考試周的有序進(jìn)行，老師們?cè)谏蠈W(xué)期末便著手開始了準(zhǔn)備。Last semester came to an unusual and sudden end due to the pandemic. In order to make this semester"s exam week run smoothly, teachers had to start their preparation in December last year.本次考試涉及所有IG1到A2年級(jí)的學(xué)生，考試科目涵蓋13門，試卷類型超30種，在任課老師與行政老師們的緊密配合之下，確認(rèn)近千份試卷內(nèi)容的準(zhǔn)確性和保密性。This examination session involves all IG1 to A2 students, covering 13 subjects and more than 30 types of papers. The accuracy and confidentiality of nearly 1,000 assessment papers are confirmed by the close cooperation of classroom teachers and administrative staff.正式考試開始前，老師們?cè)僖淮螌?duì)考試的紀(jì)律以及流程做了最后的梳理與確認(rèn)，也對(duì)可能發(fā)生的小概率事件做了預(yù)案。On the exam day, the teachers once again made a final review and confirmation of the discipline and protocols of the examination. A contingency plan has also been put in place for emergencies.

面對(duì)考試，有人自信滿滿談笑風(fēng)生，也有人爭(zhēng)分奪秒臨考記重點(diǎn)。不論如何，每一場(chǎng)考試都是經(jīng)歷，是對(duì)于過往學(xué)習(xí)的驗(yàn)證，更是對(duì)自我的一種認(rèn)知，指引了未來學(xué)習(xí)的方向。When faced with examinations, some students are full of confidence, and some are still racing against time to memorise key points in the subjects. In any case, every exam is an experience, a verification of past learning, and a kind of self-recognition, which will guide them to the next stage of learning.

歡迎同學(xué)們回歸，開啟第二學(xué)期的校園生活。Welcome back to Semester 2 at SUIS Pudong-Sanlin Campus.模考周正式開始了，對(duì)于學(xué)生們和老師們來說，這都將是忙碌的開始。We have kicked off our first week back to school with our Mock Examinations which is going to a busy time for both students and teachers.為了應(yīng)對(duì)考試，學(xué)生們將花費(fèi)大量時(shí)間復(fù)習(xí)，寫筆記，以及坐在考場(chǎng)內(nèi)參加考試。我們都知道“熟能生巧”，這次模擬考試將為他們提供真實(shí)的考試體驗(yàn)：依照要求準(zhǔn)時(shí)進(jìn)入考場(chǎng)，參加測(cè)試，并在考試時(shí)間內(nèi)完成所有答題，擺脫他們可能出現(xiàn)的“怯場(chǎng)”。通過考試，學(xué)生們也會(huì)了解到在正式參加5月-6月的大考前他們還需要做哪些課程學(xué)習(xí)準(zhǔn)備。Students will be spending a lot of time revising, writing notes, and obviously sitting the examinations. We all know that “Practice makes perfect” and this mock examination will provide them with authentic examination experiences: sitting in an examination hall, arriving at the venue on the right day and at the correct time, managing their time during the examinations and getting rid of their “stage fright”. Students will also find out where they are at and see what they will need to revisit before the real external examinations in May/June this year.另一方面，模擬考試可以作為教師的教學(xué)的指南針。老師們將在考試后評(píng)估學(xué)生的表現(xiàn)，并提供個(gè)性化的學(xué)習(xí)反饋，以幫助學(xué)生們有針對(duì)性得提高。同時(shí)，老師們也會(huì)以此為基礎(chǔ)，修改他們的教學(xué)計(jì)劃以“填補(bǔ)空白”——回顧薄弱環(huán)節(jié)，強(qiáng)調(diào)關(guān)鍵點(diǎn)并練習(xí)重要的考試技巧。On the other hands, mock examinations can serve as a performance indicator for teachers. Staff will gauge the performance of their students and give personalised formative feedback to help students improve. Teachers will also modify their teaching programme to “fill in the gaps” – recapping areas of weakness, re-emphasising key points and practising important examinations skills.我們想重申的是，模擬考試的結(jié)束只是一個(gè)開始——本學(xué)期才剛剛開始，除了復(fù)習(xí)和練習(xí)之外，還有其他知識(shí)點(diǎn)需要涵蓋。學(xué)生應(yīng)繼續(xù)充分參與課堂，在有疑問時(shí)提出問題，并盡最大能力完成分配的學(xué)習(xí)任務(wù)，按時(shí)提交作業(yè)以及在收到教師反饋后反復(fù)打磨。這是一個(gè)完整的學(xué)習(xí)過程，不應(yīng)該懈怠。在學(xué)習(xí)的過程中，我們希望家長(zhǎng)們也能參與其中并支持我們。However, we would like to reiterate that the end of the mock examination is just a start – this semester has just begun and there are still materials to be covered in addition to revision and practice. Students should continue participating fully in class, learning as much as they can, asking questions when in doubt, completing assigned work to their best ability, submitting work on time as well as responding to written or verbal feedback upon receipt of their marked pieces of work. This is a complete learning process and should not be slack off. We would also like our parents to support us on this.我們期待著一個(gè)全新的學(xué)期，一個(gè)同樣碩果累累的學(xué)期。學(xué)校，老師和同學(xué)，在教育面前，我們都是攜手并進(jìn)的伙伴。當(dāng)學(xué)年結(jié)束，回顧過去的每一步付出和努力，相信我們都將有所收獲。We look forward to another successful and productive Semester 2 and we are sure all parties will reap the benefits at the end of the academic year from all the time and effort we have all put in.
