JPED真人圖書館

真人圖書館Living Library這種閱讀理念，起源于丹麥哥本哈根，是一種通過(guò)與分享者的交談，從而獲得更多知識(shí)的活動(dòng)。達(dá)羅捷派升學(xué)指導(dǎo)中心，為幫助低年級(jí)同學(xué)對(duì)海外留學(xué)建立初步的了解和認(rèn)識(shí)，特邀請(qǐng)我校教師進(jìn)行專題分享活動(dòng)。

JPED老師均畢業(yè)于海內(nèi)外知名院校，擁有多年海外留學(xué)及工作經(jīng)驗(yàn)。通過(guò)老師們的講解能夠更好地幫助學(xué)生貼近真實(shí)的海外留學(xué)生活，從而獲得PPT或者紙質(zhì)書籍等載體所無(wú)法達(dá)到的直接的感受。

本期分享，邀請(qǐng)到兩位具有英國(guó)留學(xué)經(jīng)歷的老師—楚君老師、妍妍老師，兩位老師在英學(xué)習(xí)時(shí)均在巴斯大學(xué)有過(guò)求學(xué)經(jīng)歷，此次兩位老師將自己在學(xué)校及英國(guó)留學(xué)期間的感受與同學(xué)們分享。

兩位老師均曾就讀于英國(guó)知名學(xué)府巴斯大學(xué)，相似的求學(xué)經(jīng)驗(yàn)，不同的人生經(jīng)歷，多視角的為同學(xué)們提供英國(guó)留學(xué)可參考的寶貴建議。

巴斯大學(xué)：小而美且有力量的海外高校

巴斯大學(xué)和達(dá)羅捷派教育理念很相似，嚴(yán)謹(jǐn)?shù)膶W(xué)術(shù)氛圍，輕松愉悅的生活環(huán)境。

巴斯大學(xué)（University of Bath），成立于1966年， 是英國(guó)著名的1994聯(lián)盟成員，屬于平板玻璃大學(xué)， 位于英國(guó)英格蘭埃文郡小城巴斯，是一所以科研為導(dǎo)向的英國(guó)著名公立研究型大學(xué)，學(xué)術(shù)實(shí)力被評(píng)定為世界領(lǐng)先。

師生關(guān)系緊密

求學(xué)期間，我們最大的感受便是師生之間擁有非常好的關(guān)系，英國(guó)學(xué)校大多數(shù)為小班制教學(xué)，在授課時(shí)老師們經(jīng)常會(huì)帶一些甜品與同學(xué)們分享，并在會(huì)在每節(jié)課專門設(shè)定一個(gè)休閑時(shí)間，與學(xué)生分享彼此的生活。在周末時(shí)還會(huì)邀請(qǐng)學(xué)生去自己的家里做客，利用課余時(shí)間為學(xué)生進(jìn)行答疑，師生之間亦師亦友。

教學(xué)監(jiān)管完善

學(xué)校規(guī)章制度完善，非常尊重學(xué)生的建議與意見，對(duì)于教師的教學(xué)質(zhì)量有著嚴(yán)格的要求，學(xué)校設(shè)立完備的監(jiān)督及反饋機(jī)制。一旦發(fā)現(xiàn)教師沒有對(duì)學(xué)生的學(xué)術(shù)指導(dǎo)做出相應(yīng)的工作，包括且不限于課程質(zhì)量低、作業(yè)布置不合理超出學(xué)生接受成都等，學(xué)生可以立即向有關(guān)部門進(jìn)行投訴并舉報(bào)該教師。接到投訴，學(xué)校會(huì)立刻進(jìn)行處理并將情況以郵件的形式反饋給全校學(xué)生。

巴斯大學(xué)以郵件的形式與校友保持密切聯(lián)系

對(duì)于在校生，能夠通過(guò)郵件了解到學(xué)校獲得的榮譽(yù)、節(jié)慶安排，解決學(xué)術(shù)及生活中遇到的問(wèn)題，在畢業(yè)之后，學(xué)校也會(huì)通過(guò)郵件的方式與校友保持一個(gè)比較好的聯(lián)系。

學(xué)生服務(wù)專業(yè)且細(xì)致

其實(shí)無(wú)論是英國(guó)的大學(xué)還是歐陸地區(qū)的高校，在學(xué)生服務(wù)這一點(diǎn)上都做的非常細(xì)致，每一所學(xué)校都有自己的特色。

巴斯大學(xué)最值得一提的是職業(yè)規(guī)劃項(xiàng)目，該項(xiàng)目對(duì)于學(xué)生來(lái)說(shuō)受益匪淺。學(xué)校擁有非常完善的就業(yè)指導(dǎo)，不論學(xué)生希望對(duì)外來(lái)的職業(yè)發(fā)展有更明確的規(guī)劃，還是想進(jìn)一步提升自己的職業(yè)技能，甚至只是簡(jiǎn)單的修改建立，巴斯大學(xué)就業(yè)服務(wù)中心都能為其提供有力的支持。

巴斯大學(xué)就業(yè)指導(dǎo)手冊(cè)楚君老師在畢業(yè)后曾留在英國(guó)求職，求職期間，學(xué)校就業(yè)指導(dǎo)中心不僅給予有針對(duì)性的指導(dǎo)，并發(fā)放了大量的指導(dǎo)手冊(cè)。其中一個(gè)手冊(cè)的封面右下角出現(xiàn)的普華永道的logo，就是楚君老師曾經(jīng)的工作地點(diǎn)。

運(yùn)動(dòng)強(qiáng)校

每一所英國(guó)大學(xué)都會(huì)有一項(xiàng)自己特別強(qiáng)的體育運(yùn)動(dòng)項(xiàng)目，比如說(shuō)巴斯大學(xué)的游泳項(xiàng)目，學(xué)校派出的運(yùn)動(dòng)員多次奪得奧運(yùn)獎(jiǎng)牌。

2021年巴斯大學(xué)選出9位游泳健將出戰(zhàn)東京奧運(yùn)會(huì)

巴斯大學(xué)的Team Baths sport Training Village作為奧運(yùn)健兒的“培育中心”，培養(yǎng)出了眾多奧運(yùn)獎(jiǎng)牌獲得者。

在過(guò)去三屆奧運(yùn)會(huì)中，巴斯大學(xué)游泳隊(duì)總共獲得了10枚獎(jiǎng)牌。

分別是：

Michael Jamieson 2012年倫敦奧運(yùn)會(huì)銀牌

Jazz Carlin 2012年倫敦奧運(yùn)會(huì)2枚銀牌

Siobhan-Marie O’Connor 2016年里約奧運(yùn)會(huì)銀牌

Chris Walker-Hebborn 2016年里約奧運(yùn)會(huì)銀牌

因此，很多大家熟知的參與奧運(yùn)運(yùn)動(dòng)員，基本上某海外高校的畢業(yè)生或者大學(xué)的教練。比如邁克爾·菲爾普斯，美國(guó)著名游泳選手，23枚奧運(yùn)會(huì)金牌得主，他就任職于亞利桑那州立大學(xué)（我校畢業(yè)生Sam Guo現(xiàn)就讀于該校）擔(dān)任體育教練。

所以說(shuō)這一點(diǎn)并不局限于英國(guó)的學(xué)校，而是整個(gè)西方國(guó)家包括美國(guó)、英國(guó)、加拿大、澳洲等國(guó)家，在該地區(qū)的不同大學(xué)都會(huì)存在不同的體育精神代表以及擅長(zhǎng)的體育項(xiàng)目。

不同的學(xué)校會(huì)給同學(xué)們提供不同的資源，如果能夠通過(guò)學(xué)校的升學(xué)指導(dǎo)課程提前了解不同地區(qū)的大學(xué)，不妨在資源、人力、學(xué)科結(jié)合、實(shí)習(xí)等方面進(jìn)行深入了解確認(rèn)日后如果就讀該學(xué)校，是否有更好的機(jī)會(huì)給到自己。

楚君老師：特色學(xué)制打開通往世界的大門

提到歐洲我覺得有一個(gè)非常好的學(xué)制，可以在多個(gè)國(guó)家和地區(qū)進(jìn)行交換學(xué)習(xí)，這個(gè)項(xiàng)目叫做歐盟Erasmus+。

Erasmus+項(xiàng)目是由歐盟資助的高等教育領(lǐng)域內(nèi)的一個(gè)合作獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金項(xiàng)目，是一項(xiàng)提供確切的歐洲高等教育機(jī)會(huì)的全球性計(jì)劃，其首要目的在于尋求增強(qiáng)歐洲高等教育的質(zhì)量和在世界范圍內(nèi)的吸引力。其次，Erasmus+項(xiàng)目為促進(jìn)不同文化間有價(jià)值的交流和對(duì)話提供了一個(gè)框架。

這個(gè)項(xiàng)目是美國(guó)及歐盟簽署在框架協(xié)議中的重點(diǎn)項(xiàng)目，如果說(shuō)你在美國(guó)讀大學(xué)，可以申請(qǐng)去歐洲的學(xué)校、英國(guó)的學(xué)校去交換，而且歐盟內(nèi)部也會(huì)有很多高校和高校之間的聯(lián)合，在本科期間就有很多這種機(jī)會(huì)。

這個(gè)項(xiàng)目在歐美國(guó)家知名度很高，但在中國(guó)很少有人知道。因?yàn)樵擁?xiàng)目在歐盟外錄取的人數(shù)非常有限，每個(gè)地區(qū)/專業(yè)只招一個(gè)人。不過(guò)一旦錄取，不僅可以自由選擇在哪些國(guó)家的學(xué)校學(xué)習(xí)（研究生兩年，最多可以選擇四個(gè)國(guó)家的四所學(xué)校），而且會(huì)收到一筆不菲的獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金。巴斯大學(xué)就是我學(xué)習(xí)計(jì)劃中的一所。

我當(dāng)時(shí)的研究方向是比較政治學(xué)，課程會(huì)涉及到許多的國(guó)際發(fā)展議題，比如外交、歐盟法律及行政制度框架、社會(huì)公平、以及當(dāng)時(shí)頗受爭(zhēng)議的難民問(wèn)題等。該項(xiàng)目深得聯(lián)合國(guó)等國(guó)際組織的青睞，因?yàn)樯暾?qǐng)?jiān)擁?xiàng)目的學(xué)生通常掌握2種以上的語(yǔ)言，并且對(duì)多文化交流也頗有心得。

通過(guò)這個(gè)項(xiàng)目的學(xué)習(xí)，可以多一個(gè)角度看世界，并且擁有一段非常好的學(xué)習(xí)經(jīng)歷。

畢業(yè)之后，我加入了一家國(guó)際組織在英國(guó)的分辦公室，在女王城堡所在的溫莎（Windsor)工作。在管理當(dāng)?shù)貓F(tuán)隊(duì)的過(guò)程中，我對(duì)英國(guó)的職場(chǎng)和青少年職業(yè)發(fā)展有了許多新看法。

在英國(guó)大使館的活動(dòng)中擔(dān)任翻譯

一般情況下，英國(guó)的青少年在初三或者高一的時(shí)候，就已經(jīng)開始積極找課后兼職，或參與和日后求職相關(guān)的社會(huì)實(shí)踐。在國(guó)際組織或慈善商店做志愿者，往往是他們開啟自己職業(yè)生涯的第一步。

我印象最深刻的是一個(gè)六年級(jí)的男孩，也是我?guī)н^(guò)年齡最小的實(shí)習(xí)生。一天下午，他神色靦腆地帶著學(xué)校老師寫好的推薦信，西裝筆挺地來(lái)面試，希望我們給他一份工作。我的經(jīng)理毫不猶豫地答應(yīng)了他的請(qǐng)求，讓他做些簡(jiǎn)單的協(xié)助。而正是這些看起來(lái)不起眼的積累，卻可以作為他簡(jiǎn)歷中的一筆，成為叩開更大平臺(tái)的敲門磚。長(zhǎng)此以往，厚積薄發(fā)，等他上了大學(xué)的時(shí)候，自然不愁找不到實(shí)習(xí)，或是到畢業(yè)才發(fā)現(xiàn)找不到工作；相反，在職業(yè)道路上的早實(shí)踐、早規(guī)劃，讓他能早早找到自己的興趣，建立一番事業(yè)。

而這些經(jīng)歷也有助于他在選大學(xué)、選專業(yè)時(shí)，將自己在工作中某對(duì)行業(yè)的了解、見聞以及感受到的寫進(jìn)自己的申請(qǐng)文書，具備目標(biāo)專業(yè)的強(qiáng)競(jìng)爭(zhēng)力。

希望同學(xué)們能夠在自己的中學(xué)階段，有意識(shí)地去培養(yǎng)鏈接真實(shí)職場(chǎng)的能力，探索自己的人生目標(biāo)。如果自己覺得對(duì)某個(gè)專業(yè)領(lǐng)域感興趣，最好的了解方式就是去實(shí)踐，感受這個(gè)行業(yè)正在發(fā)生什么，需要哪些專業(yè)技能，涵蓋哪些知識(shí)領(lǐng)域，通用的解決方案等，而不是局限在聽身邊人講、上網(wǎng)搜集信息等二手渠道里面。

妍妍老師：在路上，不斷發(fā)現(xiàn)自己真正的求學(xué)需求

很多同學(xué)都在問(wèn)我，為什么要選擇英國(guó)留學(xué)或者是該選擇哪個(gè)國(guó)家留學(xué)？其實(shí)，與其回答這個(gè)問(wèn)題，我更建議大家能夠利用現(xiàn)在的時(shí)間及搜索方式，結(jié)合升學(xué)指導(dǎo)課程中老師的講解，通過(guò)讀書、雜志、以及媒體平臺(tái)等方式，多了解、多感受不同國(guó)家和地區(qū)的風(fēng)土人情。

感受不同地區(qū)的風(fēng)貌的妍妍老師

目前可能沒有太多的機(jī)會(huì)幫助同學(xué)們?nèi)ネ鄠€(gè)國(guó)家和地區(qū)進(jìn)行實(shí)地探索，但如果有機(jī)會(huì)還是建議大家多去感受。不同的國(guó)家，不同的城市，不同的學(xué)校都有自己的特色，只有你不斷的去了解、去探索，才能判斷那所學(xué)校真正適合你。

達(dá)羅捷派的同學(xué)們，有些是偏學(xué)術(shù)型，有些偏向活動(dòng)實(shí)習(xí)型，大家可以根據(jù)自己的特點(diǎn)，去匹配學(xué)校的風(fēng)格。拿英國(guó)學(xué)校距離來(lái)說(shuō)，有些學(xué)校偏學(xué)術(shù)科研型，有些學(xué)校在體育活動(dòng)、實(shí)習(xí)就業(yè)方面更有優(yōu)勢(shì)。這樣一對(duì)比、感受，不難發(fā)現(xiàn)與自己同頻的學(xué)校。

在英國(guó)讀書期間，我讀的是人文學(xué)科，因此需要進(jìn)行大量文獻(xiàn)閱讀及論文的撰寫，在學(xué)術(shù)寫作的整個(gè)過(guò)程中，不僅鍛煉自己的文獻(xiàn)檢索能力，還從專業(yè)方向開拓了我的視野。

英國(guó)人普遍受教育程度較高，學(xué)術(shù)氛圍好，并且在日常相處的過(guò)程中都非常友好。因?yàn)樗麄冎牢沂侵袊?guó)留學(xué)生，在學(xué)校期間學(xué)術(shù)壓力會(huì)比較大，因此在學(xué)術(shù)方面，很多英國(guó)本地的同學(xué)和認(rèn)識(shí)的朋友在論文潤(rùn)色方面給了我非常大的幫助。

與朋友們一起品嘗英式下午茶

建議大家在海外留學(xué)期間除進(jìn)行學(xué)術(shù)研究外，也可以感受一下與不同國(guó)家及地區(qū)的人進(jìn)行溝通和交流，你會(huì)發(fā)現(xiàn)整個(gè)過(guò)程是很有意思的的。他們會(huì)期望在自己的能力范圍內(nèi)為你提供幫助，如果你遇到什么問(wèn)題不開心，也會(huì)竭盡全力的去幫助你。

當(dāng)然，特別建議利用讀書期間去周邊的國(guó)家和地區(qū)走一走，感受不同的自然風(fēng)光，你們可以去挪威、瑞典感受峽灣，穿越北極線，在圣誕節(jié)的時(shí)候去圣誕老人村感受一下獨(dú)特的氛圍。但是別忘記，每一個(gè)國(guó)家都有自己獨(dú)特的風(fēng)俗習(xí)慣，大家需要提前做好準(zhǔn)備工作，并給予尊重，以表達(dá)最大的敬意。

希望你們敢于嘗試新的事物，收獲新的驚喜，去到不同的地方，感受不同的文化，找到自己想要前行的道路。

當(dāng)你真正處于異國(guó)他鄉(xiāng)時(shí)，身后仿佛多了一種使命：你會(huì)對(duì)不同國(guó)家的不同的文化產(chǎn)生濃厚的興趣，并開始嘗試弘揚(yáng)自己的民族精神與習(xí)俗。同時(shí)，也學(xué)會(huì)了要包容并尊重不同的文化，提升自己的全民意識(shí)。當(dāng)你回到自己國(guó)家中，你會(huì)發(fā)現(xiàn)留學(xué)之旅最重要的不僅僅是你學(xué)到具體的知識(shí)，而是你學(xué)習(xí)新事物和解決問(wèn)題的能力。這才是出國(guó)留學(xué)的真正意義---從被動(dòng)學(xué)習(xí)轉(zhuǎn)向自主探索，走萬(wàn)里路，不斷豐富并健全自己的人格。

-衛(wèi)妍妍““作為從公立體系殺出一條路的“卷王”，學(xué)生時(shí)期我拿到了所有能證明自己學(xué)術(shù)能力的成果。但當(dāng)我的身份轉(zhuǎn)換，踏入異國(guó)他鄉(xiāng)的職場(chǎng)，面臨一套截然不同的職場(chǎng)競(jìng)爭(zhēng)體系時(shí)，我發(fā)現(xiàn)“優(yōu)秀”的標(biāo)準(zhǔn)發(fā)生巨大變化，也看到世界另一端的青少年是如何早早開始探索自己未來(lái)的職業(yè)方向，在學(xué)術(shù)背景略遜一籌的情況下，也能也能靠提前積累的經(jīng)驗(yàn)、人脈、對(duì)商業(yè)世界的理解，對(duì)學(xué)霸降維打擊。因此我特別希望這段經(jīng)歷能啟發(fā)同學(xué)們，在享受校園生活的同時(shí)，去積極接觸社會(huì)的各行各業(yè)，在條件允許的情況下盡早開啟第一段實(shí)習(xí)。更希望讓大家了解PBL學(xué)習(xí)鍛煉出的軟實(shí)力，比如溝通、領(lǐng)導(dǎo)力、團(tuán)隊(duì)合作，會(huì)成為自己在初入職場(chǎng)時(shí)的先發(fā)優(yōu)勢(shì)，也將會(huì)是自己未來(lái)幾十年工作生涯中的寶貴財(cái)富。我衷心希望同學(xué)們能早早起跑，找到自己的心之所向并為之全力以赴。-宋楚君“

兩位老師通過(guò)自己的親身經(jīng)歷，從不同角度出發(fā)盡可能全面的為同學(xué)們描述真實(shí)的英國(guó)留學(xué)生活場(chǎng)景，并結(jié)合自身體驗(yàn)及感觸，給出了不同的建議。幫助同學(xué)們更加深入了解英國(guó)留學(xué)，以及對(duì)未來(lái)申請(qǐng)方向有了構(gòu)想。

Living Library, a reading concept that originated in Copenhagen, Denmark, is an activity where you can gain more knowledge by talking to the people who share it. The JPEDAcademyProgressionCentre, in order to help the younger students build up an initial understanding and knowledge of studying abroad, has invited our teachers to share their views on the topic.

JPED teachers are graduates fromrenowned domestic universities and abroad, they have many years of experience in studying and working abroad.Through the teachers" explanations, students will be able to get closer to the real life of studying abroad and get a direct experience that cannot be achieved through PowerpPoint or books.

In this issue, we have invited two teachers who have studied in the UK - Ms. Chujun and Ms. Yan Yan, both of them have studied at the University of Bath when they were studying in the UK.

Both of them studied at the University of Bath, a prestigious institution in the UK. With similar schooling experiences and different life experiences, they provide students with valuable advice on how to study in the UK from multiple perspectives.

University of Bath: a small, beautiful andpowerful university

The University of Bath has a similar philosophy to that of JPED Academy, with a rigorous academic atmosphere and a relaxed and enjoyable living environment.

The University of Bath, founded in 1966, is a member of the prestigious 1994 League of British Universities and a member of the Plate Glass University.

Close student-teacher relationship

Most British schools have small class sizes and teachers often bring desserts to share with their students during classes. They also invite students to their homes at weekends and spend time outside of class answering questions, they are teachers, but also can be seen as friends.When they are students

Well-regulated teaching style

The school has good regulations, respects the advice and opinions of students, has strict requirements for the quality of teaching, and has a comprehensive monitoring and feedback system.If a teacher is found not to be doing an appropriate job in providing academic guidance to students, including and not limited to low quality lessons, assignments that are unreasonable or beyond the student"s acceptance, students may immediately file a complaint and report the teacher to the appropriate authorities.The complaint will be dealt immediately and an email will be sent to the whole school.

For current students, they are able to keep in touch with alumni through emails about honours won by the school, festival arrangements, solving problems encountered in academics and life, and after graduation, the school also maintains close contact with alumni through emails.

In fact, both British and continental universities are very meticulous in this aspect of student services, and each one has its own special features.

One of the most noteworthy aspects of the University of Bath is the Career Planning Programme, which is a great benefit to students. Whether students wish to have a clearer plan for their future career development, or to further develop their career skills or even simply to revise their establishment, the University of Bath Careers Service can provide strong support.

After graduating, Ms Chujun stayed in the UK to look for employment opportunity. Strong Sporting School

As a result, many of the Olympic athletes who are known to be involved are essentially graduates of an overseas university or coaches at a university.For example, Michael Phelps, the famous American swimmer and 23-time Olympic gold medallist, works as an athletic coach at Arizona State University (where our graduate Sam Guo is currently studying).So it is not limited to schools in the UK, but throughout the Western countries including the USA, UK, Canada and Australia, where different universities in that region will have different representatives of sportsmanship and the sports they specialised in.Different schools will offer different resources to their students,and if you can get to know different regional universities in advance through the school"s Careers Guidance Programme, you may wish to have an in-depth look at resources, manpower, subject combinations, internships, etc. to confirm whether there are better opportunities available for you in the future.

Mr. Chujun: A special school system opens the door to the world

When it comes to Europe I think there is a very good study programme that allows you to exchange your studies in several countries and regions, this programme is calledEU Erasmus+.Erasmus+, a collaborative scholarship programme within the field of higher education funded by the European Union, is a global programme that offers definitive access to European higher education, with the primary aim of seeking to enhance the quality and worldwide attractiveness of European higher education. Secondly, the Erasmus+ project provides a framework for the promotion of valuable exchanges and dialogue between cultures.This program is a key program in the framework agreement signed between the US and the EU. If you are studying in the US, you can apply for an exchange to an European school, a UK school, and there will be a lot of university-to-university alliances within the EU, and there are many opportunities during your undergraduate.This programme is well known in the Europe and USA, but very few people in China has heard of it. This is because the programme has a very limited number of acceptances outside the EU, with only one intake per region/speciality. However, once accepted, you have the freedom to choose which country you want to study in (for two years of postgraduate study, you can choose up to four schools in four countries), additionally, you will also receive a substantial scholarship.The University of Bath is one of the schools in my study programme.Ms.Chujun at UNDP BangkokMy research was in comparative politics and the course would cover many international development issues such as diplomacy, the EU legal and administrative institutional framework, social justice, and the then controversial issue of refugees.Theprogramme was highly sought after by international organisations such as the United Nations, as students applying for the programme often had a command of more than two languages and a good understanding of multicultural communication.The programme provides an additional perspective on the world and a great learning experience.After graduating, I joined the UK branch office of an international organisation, working in Windsor, where the Queen"s Castle is located.While managing the local team, I gained new perspectives on the UK workplace and career development for young people.Interpreting at British Embassy events

Typically, young people in the UK are already actively looking for after-school part-time jobs in their junior or senior years, or are involved in social practices related to their later job hunt. Volunteering with international organisations or charity shops is often thefirst stepthey take tolaunch their careers.

I was most impressed by a boy in Year 6, the youngest intern I had ever worked with. One afternoon he came in shyly with a letter of recommendation from his school teacher, suited up for an interview and hoping we would give him a job. Without hesitation, my manager agreed to his request and asked him to do some simple assistance. It was these seemingly insignificant accumulations that could have been added to his CV and become a doorstop to a bigger platform. In the long run, he will be able to build up his career and when he goes to university, he willnot worry about finding an internship or finding a job only when he graduates; on the contrary, the early practice and planning in his career path will enable him to find his interest and build a career sooner.

These experiences will also help him to choose a university and a major, and to include in his application documents what he has learned, seen and felt about the industry in his work, and to have a strong competitive edge for his target major.

We hope that students will make a conscious effort to develop the ability to link to the real world of work and explore their life goals during their secondary school years.If you feel interested in a particular professional field, the best way to learn about it is to practice it and get a feel for what is happening in the industry, what professional skills are needed, what areas of knowledge are covered, generic solutions, etc., rather than limiting yourself to second-hand sources such as listening to people around you or gathering information online.

Ms. Yan Yan: On the road, constantly discovering what you really want to learn

Many students have asked me why they should choose to study in the UK or which country they should choose to study in. In fact, instead of answering this question, I would suggest that you make use of the time and search methods available for you, combine with the lecturers" explanations in the guidance courses, andlearn more about and experience the customs of different countries and regionsthrough reading books, magazines and media platforms.

Ms. Yan Yan who experienced the different regions

There may not be many opportunities to help students travel to multiple countries and regions for field exploration at the moment, but if you have the chance you are still advised to get a feel for them.Different countries,different cities and different schools have their own characteristics, and only if you keep learning and exploring can you tell which school is right for you.Some of the students at JPED are more academic focused and some are more activity and internship oriented, so you can match the style of the school to your characteristics. Take the distance of UK universities, some schools are more academic and research-oriented, while others are better at sports activities and internships or employment. Once you compare and feel this way, it is not difficult to find schools that are on the same frequency as you.During my studies in the UK, I read humanities and therefore had to do a lot of literature reading and dissertation writing. Throughout the process of academic writing, not only honed my literature research skills, but also broadened my horizons from a professional direction.Ms.Yanyan is travelling in ScotlandThe British people are generally well educated, have a good academic atmosphere and are very friendly in their day-to-day dealings. As they knew I was a Chinese student and would be under academic pressure during my time at school, many of my local UK classmates and friends I knew were very helpful in polishing my dissertation in terms of academics.Enjoy English afternoon tea with friendsWe recommend that, in addition to your academic studies, you also get a feel for communicating and interacting with people from different countries and regions during your time abroad - you will find the whole process interesting. They will expect to help you in their own capacity and will do their best to help you if you are unhappy with any problems you encounter.Hot air balloon ride in Bath with friendsOf course, it is particularly recommended to use your study period to travel to the surrounding countries and regions to experience the different culture. You can go to Norway and Sweden to experience the fjords, cross the Arctic line and visit Father Christmas Village at Christmas time to get a unique atmosphere. But don"t forget that each country has its own unique customs and traditions, and you need to prepare well in advance and show your utmost respect by showing respect.I hope you will dare to try new things, reap new surprises, go to different places, experience different cultures and find the path you want to take forward.Teacher"s perspective“When you are actually in a foreign country, it is as if there is an additional mission behind you: you become interested in the different cultures of different countries and begin to try to promote your own national spirit and customs. ““As the "king of the rolls" who made it out of the public system, I had everything I needed to prove my academic ability as a student. But when my status changed and I entered the workplace in a foreign country and faced a very different system of competition in the workplace, I found that the criteria for "excellence" changed dramatically and saw how teenagers on the other side of the world started to explore their future career direction early on, and how they could also rely on the experience, contacts and understanding of the business world that they had accumulated in advance, even though their academic background was slightly inferior. The experience, contacts and understanding of the business world that they have gained can be used to take down the gauntlet of the academic. I hope that this experience will inspire students to enjoy their campus life while actively engaging with all walks of life, and to start their first internship as soon as conditions permit. I also hope to let you know that the soft skills honed through PBL studies, such as communication, leadership and teamwork, will be a head start for you when you first enter the workplace and will be a valuable asset in your future working career for decades.
