當視野足夠開闊，才能做出最正確的選擇。每學期，深國預會邀請眾多名校招生官來訪，幫助學生提前了解海外大學，制定更加合適的升學目標。過去一個月，深國預邀請了多位名校招生官，包括約翰斯·霍普金斯大學皮博迪音樂學院、美國康涅狄格大學、美國雪城大學、美國匹茲堡大學、SEG瑞士酒店管理集團旗下四所大學、澳洲悉尼大學、新南威爾士大學、西交利物浦大學等，通過線上與線下的宣講，開闊學生視野，激發(fā)成長動力。

我是深國預12年級孩子的家長，孩子選擇的是美高課程，美國大學方向，目前已完成ED1和EA輪的申請，并還在全力以赴地為RD輪的申請準備著。

I am the parent of a SIFC G12 child. My child chooses AP courses and wants to apply to universities in the United States. I have completed the ED1 and EA rounds of application. And he is still going all out to prepare for the RD round of applications.

從10年級開始，作為父母的我們就開始深入咨詢、查找資訊，梳理各美國名校的錄取條件，制定完備的學習計劃，全力幫助孩子考入夢校。但父母再好的規(guī)劃，孩子也不會按部就班地執(zhí)行，因為他們尚且處在自我意識超強、貪玩、叛逆的青春期，他們甚至想要改變世界

時間越來越緊迫，孩子的任務一次又一次無法如期完成，父母陷入焦慮，慢慢地累積更多的負面情緒……我開始反思：作為長輩，我是否要先管理好自己的情緒呢？父母和子女的關系如此持續(xù)下去，是否會適得其反、惡性循環(huán)呢？因焦慮而引發(fā)的負面情緒，是否會以愛的名義蔓延到孩子身上呢？

I began to reflect: As a parent, should I manage my emotions first? Will it be counterproductive if the relationship between parents and children continues in this way?

于是，我開始和孩子平等溝通，站在他的角度探討他喜歡的話題。不再以指責的口吻訓斥孩子，而是在逐漸升溫的關系中，旁敲側擊、見縫插針地引導。了解他的真實想法，共同探討升學目標和任務，讓他從邏輯上清楚地知道目標和任務。而我也不再為他的升學感到焦慮，只是默默地和老師緊密配合，等待從量變到質變的飛躍。

And I no longer feel anxious about his further education, but silently cooperate closely with the teacher, waiting for the leap from quantitative change to qualitative change.

終于，減輕壓力之后，他學習反而更有樂趣了。作為父母，我們以不強求結果的心態(tài)，盡量不著痕跡地竭盡全力去推動和引導孩子完成任務，靠近目標。當然，也在時刻自我審視，控制情緒，讓孩子感受到更多的溫暖和支持。升學固然重要，但以和子女的關系產生隔膜甚至裂痕為代價，是得不償失的。未來不可知，父母只要給予孩子足夠的尊重和信任就好了。焦慮改變不了現(xiàn)實，只會讓事情變得更糟。

青春期的孩子會有各種情緒的波動，甚至與老師發(fā)生沖突。剛來深國預時，孩子跟一位科任老師產生了矛盾。在導師的組織下，我們一家和傅院長、校長、任課老師進行2次面談后，就把問題徹底解決了。孩子的心結解開，老師也更理解孩子。更慶幸的是，孩子跟那位老師成為了非常要好的朋友，還一起組建樂隊，參演校園大型活動。在導師和老師的鼓勵下，孩子越來越自信，九年級的時候還作為深國預優(yōu)秀學生代表上臺演講。看到孩子從中收獲、成長，我們也很開心。

歸結起來我覺得有很重要的兩點：

1.相信孩子不要小瞧他們

2.重視學校反饋，根據老師們的專業(yè)建議給到孩子相應的支持

深國預這個平臺讓孩子可以慢慢成長，去為自己人生的夢想做更多的探索。我們作為家長，要適當地放手，給孩子成長的空間。就像紀伯倫在詩歌《致孩子》中所說的那樣：“他們通過你出生，卻并非來自于你，雖然他們和你在一起，卻不屬于你。給他們你的愛，而不是你的思想，因為他們有自己的思想。”

SIFC allows children to grow up slowly and do more exploration for their dreams in life. As parents, we must let go appropriately and give our children room to grow. You may give them your love but not your thoughts, for they have their own thoughts."

很慶幸深國預的Serena導師、Winson老師以及其他科任老師和宿管老師們給我的幫助，有時候甚至到了晚上八九點，老師們還給我反饋孩子的情況并給出專業(yè)性建議。每次期中期末考試后參加一對一的家長會，各科目老師都不僅僅是和每位家長簡單聊幾句，都是有問必答、事無巨細、有疑必解的。除此之外，我們還能通過家長群、家委會活動、導師聯(lián)絡、郵件、PowerSchool系統(tǒng)等方式建立有效的家校溝通。因為選擇所以相信。可能所有選擇深國預的家長們也和我一樣經歷過迷茫，在艱難抉擇后最終選擇了深國預。選擇這里是因為我們相信——相信學校、相信老師，相信自己，相信孩子們。每個孩子都是世界上獨一無二的一朵花，只要我們耐心，就能靜待花開！
